Tiny Mighty Kitties

Starting today, October 26, 2010 the Mumble server will go offline for several days. We are moving 7 hours away, and taking the server computer with us. Once we have internet service in our rental place, I will endeavor to fire up the server and forward the appropriate IP address to the DNS server.

I estimate that this will take a minimum of 3 days, and may take until the middle of the first week of November.

Ventrilo Server is back online after some fuddling and muddling with router settings and static IP addresses and stuff.

Address is vent.tinymightykitties.com Port: 3784. 3789 is still offline atm.

NEW MUMBLE server is online!! This one is a bit more exciting, as it promises to do all that the commercial ventrilo servers can do, only ... free. You need the mumble client:

With the release of patch 3.3.5 comes a new and exciting friend / chat system known as Real ID.

Blizzard was overly terse when describing the system. It is a cross-game (all Blizzard, though), cross-realm, and cross-faction way of keeping in touch with your friends.

To access it, open your social menu ('O' key by default) and enter the email address (that corresponds to their battle.net account) of the person you with to stalk, erm friend.

This will provide you and your friend with the awesome chat features listed above.

Just wanted to let y'all know ahead of time, I have applied to move Llaird into a raiding guild, and may decide to pull him from the kitties for a bit and try it out... Not sure yet, but I will be bringing Meabhe back soon, so you'll still see me lots! I am really enjoying tanking with her. I love all you Kitties, just wanna see what more I can do with ol' Llairdiepoo... And I'll still pull Llaird into whatever you might need me for, just ask for him if you want me for anything!

I'll preface this by saying please take all precautions to not get hacked. Do not log into WoW from shared computers, buy gold / powerleveling services, or go to shady sites. If you do not have an authenticator you can and will get hacked. An authenticator will reduce your chances of being hacked, but not to zero, so be smart.

As most of the 'Kitties know, I have a lot of toons, and I have played pretty much every position in 5-man parties or smaller. It's important to note that I have no experience in anything larger than a 5-man, so keep that in mind as you read. The Kitties probably also know that I have multiple Paladins, and with those Paladins, I usually spec Protection.

It would appear that this website (well, the free Drupal service here anyway) does not play nicely with Internet Explorer. As a consequence, there are a number of known issues. First off, if you are using IE, you may not be able to log in once you have created a user. Second, if you try to upload an image, it will probably fail, but the document will be created with a blank image. To solve all of these issues, use pretty much any other browser ... I recommend either Opera or Firefox. Both are free to download, and generally painless to install. For more info, contact Porky.

Due to an unacceptable increase in bots signing up for accounts lately, we are now implementing an approval system for new accounts. More or less if you'd like to join us on tinymightykitties.com we'd love you, but we're going to have to verify that you are a real person or a magical duck that can type or something. The way it is setup administrators should receive an email and then one of us will approve or deny the application based on whether we can tell you are a person or a talking duck.
